A welcome sight for the Eagles: defensive tackle Mike Patterson is in uniform and doing drills on a side field at training camp.

Patterson has not practiced since Aug. 3, when he was hospitalized after suffering a seizure during drills. Patterson was diagnosed with a brain AVM, which most likely caused the seizure, and has been undergoing tests.

Elsewhere, DeSean Jackson, who ended his holdout last Monday, is practicing for the first time this camp.

Short at offensive tackle, the Eagles signed a pair Saturday morning: undrafted rookie Spencer Johnson and veteran Joe Toledo.

A teammate of third-round pick Curtis Marsh’s at Utah State, Johnson started 39 of 46 games in four seasons with the Aggies. He is wearing No. 72.

Selected out in the fourth round by Miami in 2006, Toledo has been limited by injuries and has yet to play in a regular season game. He also has spent time with Seattle, San Francisco and Green Bay. He’s No. 76.

Fenuki Tupou suffered a sprained MCL in Thursday’s preseason opener against Baltimore, and Winston Justice is on the physically unable to perform list with a knee injury suffered last season. King Dunlap, whom head coach Andy Reid said “twisted” a knee against the Ravens, is practicing, but Ryan Harris isn’t. Neither is center Jamaal Jackson.

The Eagles also played receiver Steve Smith (knee) on the PUP list, released defensive tackles Brandon Collier (injury settlement) and Charles Noonan, and quarterback Jerrod Johnson.
