Stefanski’s PR Circus Finally Over

Just a couple of days ago, I referred to Sixers GM Ed Stefanski’s carousel of coaches interviewing process as a dog and pony show. Today, the team announced the hiring of Eddie Jordan, Stefanski’s undoubted choice from day one. So why the theatrics? John McMullin of The Seattle Post-Intelligencer penned an excellent article which I think summarizes it best…

“It’s not that I think Jordan is a bad coach, but he was Stefanski’s choice from the get-go and the Sixers’ GM never showed the courage of his convictions.

Instead, Stefanski went through a vetting process that can only be described as a public relations campaign, designed to fend off the notoriously tough Philadelphia media.”
