Seattle Seahawks – Running Back Competition

Last week I listed Julius Jones as a potential fantasy football bust, saying that Maurice Morris may eat into his carries.  Turns out, it may be the other way around.  In preseason week 1, Morris got the start and accumulated 62 yards on just six attempts, including a 21-yard jaunt.   Jones managed only 15 yards on four attempts.  The buzz out of camp has all surrounded Morris, who seems to be the favorite of head coach Mike Holmgrem.  The situation is certainly worth keeping an eye on.

Jones gets a bad rap, I think he will have a real good season in Seattle, he was an absolute stud hsi rookie season in Dallas, when they got Marion Barber III, people fell in love with his talents and Jones got lost in the shuffle. I think Jones will be fine, he is a first-round talent, Morris is a journeyman and people always love the back-up.

Don’t journeymen usually play for more than one team? I thought Morris played pretty nicely last year. I honestly think they’ll just end up splitting carries right down the middle. A situation which could become even worse if Duckett steals the goal-line attempts. Then none of the three would be fantasy relevant.

To be honest, I was expecting Julius Jones to see a lot of action at least in the first quarter. After all, we still haven’t really seen how well he’ll fit at Seahawks. Instead, we saw Mo Mo getting some major action! What’s going on?

Maybe thats telling you that Jones is the guy and they dont want him getting hurt.
